Finding hope through music therapy

MADISON, Wisc. (WMTV) -- A new program at American Family Children's Hospital is helping kids ease the pain of chronic illness by learning and playing music.

The new music therapy program sends music therapists into patients' rooms to sing and learn to play their favorite songs on instruments in a relaxing, healing environment.

The music therapy program is funded through donations and is only about a third of the way to their budgeted donation need of $10,000. The money goes towards paying music therapists and purchasing more instruments for kids.

Donations to the program can be made here.
