Hudson, 2, was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma in early June after suffering from severe leg pain for weeks. Immediately, he began chemotherapy and while he was recuperating he became fascinated by what was happening outside his hospital room window.

Findorff construction is working on building an addition to another portion of the UW-Health Hospital. Their construction site happened to be right outside Hudson's window.

"My husband would pick him up and take him over by the window and my husband would literally have to sit on the window sill with him where he could sit up there and watch them and see what was going on," Sara Dellemann, Hudson's mother, said.

To Findorff construction workers Mat Kinerk, a foreman, and Nathan Hiles, a project manager, they were just doing their everyday job.

"You know we don't realize that people are watching us, it's neat working next to the children's hospital and it was neat to hear that we brought enjoyment to Hudson," Hiles said.

And they brought him more than just enjoyment. Sara messaged Findorff construction about their biggest fan. Within hours four Findorff construction workers came to Hudson's room and gave him his own hard hat, vest and coloring books.

"He started pointing out the window and he perked right up and he put the vest on and I don't think he took it off for about three days," Sara said.

Hudson and his family are from Two Rivers, Wisconsin. They travel to Madison for Hudson's chemotherapy treatments, but Sara says he has been getting sick, bad fevers, after treatments when they get home. When this happens they have to travel in an ambulance from the Green Bay hospital to Madison. The main reason the family started a GoFundMe page is to help with the unexpected ambulance costs as well as help the family with basic needs since Sara left her job to take care of Hudson.
