MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A former Green Bay Packers safety is transforming the way kids approach reading.
Ha Ha Clinton-Dix unveiled his second Ha Ha’s Hero Headquarters at Mendota Elementary School Monday morning.
The library corner contains 600 brand new books and a comfortable space to read them.
Clinton-Dix said it helps inspire kids to grow in their reading and education.
"I want to see kids growing up to be something special,” Clinton-Dix told NBC15. “I think that's the most important thing in the community - teachers in the classroom. I have a 3-year-old daughter now and someday these kids are going to be advocates for my daughter, and I just want to set great examples for my daughter."
Ha Ha's Hero Foundation has installed one other Ha Ha's Hero Headquarters at Benjamin Franklin Elementary School in Milwaukee.
The foundation helps economically challenged students become heroes through motivation, empowerment and encouragement.
