Free dental care for kids in Madison

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Some aspiring dental hygienists are getting some practice and giving back to the community.

Dental students at Madison College are providing free care for kids this week.

Kids from 3 years old to 18 years old can come to the health building on campus for a free cleaning and check-up. They can also get x-rays, fluoride treatments and dental sealants.

Madison College expects to see hundreds of kids this week.

Students say helping these kids, helps them too.

“It’s really important for us and for the patient to get them in here and let them know the importance of oral health and their 6 month cleanings,” said Kyle Horwitz, a dental hygiene student. “It's really great and it makes us feel great. I mean we are doing them a benefit but it's just so rewarding for us, I think.”

You can call and schedule an appointment for your kid at (608) 258-2400. There is limited space so call as soon as possible.
