MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) With several inches of snow on the ground, the floodgates have been opened up for Arctic air to spill into the Great Lakes. This will bring the coldest air of the season as we wrap up the weekend. Overnight low temperatures will drop down to around 0 degrees while highs on Sunday struggle to reach double digits.
This does bring some concern for frostbite. Wind chill values Saturday night and Sunday will be as cold as 15 below zero. This drops the time to get frostbite down under 45 minutes. Make sure to dress appropriately and be prepared for spending time in the cold weather.
The end of January and into February looks to feature a lot more Wintry weather. Several more opportunities for snow and even colder conditions will arrive over the next 7-10 days.
