Gov. Evers orders Iowa Co. flags at half-staff to honor DA Nelson

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV)--- Governor Tony Evers ordered flags at half-staff for Iowa County District Attorney who died unexpectedly on Tuesday.

Governor Evers authorized Iowa County to lower the United States and the State of Wisconsin flags to mark respect for Larry Nelson.

"Our hearts go out to the family and friends of Larry E. Nelson, a dedicated District Attorney, who leaves behind an honorable legacy of service to Iowa County and his state," Gov. Evers said. "His life of public service and advocacy for victims of crime will not be forgotten."

Nelson suffered a pulmonary embolism while at his office in Iowa County.

The order goes into effect at sunrise on Monday and ends at sunset on Tuesday.
