Missing veteran last seen in Madison found safe

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - UPDATE: Missing veteran Andrew Richard Olson was found safe. The Green Alert has been cancelled.

He is 22 years old and originally from Eau Claire.

Olson is currently a member of the WI Army National Guard and in Madison for a drill weekend.

He is described as 5'8" weighing 135 lbs. with short, crew cut blonde hair and has blue eyes.

Authorities say he was last seen wearing jeans, a black hooded sweatshirt with red stripes down the side, and with red lettering across the chest reading "32IBCT" (pictured in the photo).

Madison Police say around 10:45 on Saturday evening, Olson left the area of 1344 E Washington Ave in Madison on foot.

According to his friends, his history and previous statements give them a reason to be concerned for his welfare. Police learned Olson had been drinking and was intoxicated when took off from his friends.

A cell phone ping was attempted, but Olson's phone is turned off.

His current whereabouts are unknown, and his vehicle (WI 711VHY) is currently at the Armed Forces Reserve Center 6001 Manufacturers Dr in Madison.

Olson will not likely have access to his vehicle without fellow soldiers becoming aware. If found, please check his welfare.
