Horses in the Park creates interest in equine industry
It was all about horses in Columbus Saturday at Horses in the Park.
This is the first year of the event at Fireman’s Park and it brought in more than 200 people to learn about the equine industry. It was put on by the Wisconsin Horse Council and featured demonstrations, info sessions, training clinics, a tack swap, jumping, mounted archery shooting, pony painting and more.
"They're not puppy dogs and a lot of people think they are and they think they can go out there and pet on them a little bit and feed them a cookie and everything’s going to be cool but some of these guys have their own way of doing things and you have to make sure you're doing your part to keep them going," said Demonstrator Smokie Brannaman.
