JANESVILLE, Wis. (WTMV) -- After a nearby gun shop was burglarized earlier this week, CTR Firearms in Janesville is stepping up their security measures.

Police say a man named Joseph Jakubowski robbed the Armageddon Gun Shop Tuesday evening. The owner of CTR Firearms, another gun shop in Janesville says, he is taking extra security measures so something like this never happens to him.

"I don't want to be that gun shop. I don't want to be the gun shop that makes it harder for everybody else I want to be the gun shop that does everything he can to make things the way they should be," CTR Firearms Owner, Chris Enders says.

He says when he opened his licensed gun shop a month and a half ago he never heard from federal or local authorities about what safety measures he was expected to take to keep his firearms safe. He says he didn't want to take any risks, so he came up with his own security protocols.

"We have two 80 gun safes. All of our guns are safed every night. The door also has a sliding deadbolt. We actually put a pad lock through the deadbolt every night," Enders says.

On Friday they were also having bullet proof glass installed in to all of the windows of the building their shop is in. He says he would rather go above and beyond standard safety measures to insure that his guns never get in to the wrong hands.

"With great power comes great responsibility"," Enders says.
