JANESVILLE, Wis. (WMTV) -- Janesville police released video of an arrest they made with the help of a drone.

Police went to a home on South Ringold Street on Monday night to speak with Ryan Weaver regarding a retail theft, according to officials. Weaver was also wanted for a probation violation.

Authorities said he ran away from police through a back door to avoid being taken into custody.

Officers set up a perimeter around the area and deployed the department's drone to search for Weaver. The drone picked up a heat signal between a nearby house and shed. Officers said they responded to that location and found Weaver hiding.

Weaver was taken into custody without incident. He is on probation for delivery of narcotics.
