Janesville police search for theft suspect

JANESVILLE, Wis. (WMTV)— A small business owner in Janesville is asking for help identifying the man who stole a $300 necklace from her store.

“It’s irritating, you feel a little violated,” said Angie Losee. She owns “Angie’s On Main” in downtown Janesville. She shared surveillance video of the incident with NBC15.

Police need help identifying the suspect seen in the video. Police say in late April, he came into the store and left without paying for the necklace.

Losee says in the video you can see the man holding the necklace and then put it in his pocket. She says police have been looking for this guy but so far, no one has been able to identify him.

“It’s disheartening because we are small business owners. It’s not like we are loaded. The other thing is it’s not even mine. It’s here on consignment, so it’s not even mine, it’s one of my vendors,” said Losee.

The suspect has longer dark hair and was wearing a white t-shirt with a leather jacket.

If you recognize him, please call the Janesville Police Department at 755-3100 or Janesville Area Crime Stoppers at (608) 756-3636
