Local bus driver evaluated after crash, students unhurt

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) -- A local school bus driver is being evaluated at an area hospital after the bus crossed the centerline and crashed into a residential yard.

It happened around 7:49 a.m. Friday on Blackhawk Road, near Rose Court in Middleton.

Thirty-five students from the Middleton-Cross Plains School District were on board, and en route to school at Glacier Creek Middle School, when the bus left the road. It was traveling westbound on Blackhawk Road.

The students were not hurt. Another bus responded to the scene and took the kids to school, according to a media release from the Dane County Sheriff's Office.

The bus driver was not injured and is being evaluated at a local hospital.

The reason for the crash is not yet known.
