MADISON, Wis. (WMTV)--- Officers had a bank robbery suspect in custody in just about ten minutes after a heist was reported on Tuesday morning.
Joel DeSpain, a spokesperson with the Madison Police Department, said the robbery happened around 9:30 a.m. at Old National Bank on N. Sherman Avenue. Officers quickly swarmed the area. The suspect was found walking near Winchester Street and Ruskin Street.
DeSpain said no weapon was seen by the victims at the bank, but the robber did pass a note demanding cash.
32-year-old John Bauer of Madison was arrested for theft from a financial institution.
