Macy's guard bit by thieves trying to steal more than $1,000 in goods

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A Macy’s security guard ended up with a bleeding arm after he was attacked by people trying to steal merchandise from the store in Madison.

Madison police said the guard noticed three people stuffing bags with more than $1,000 worth of goods Thursday afternoon at Macy’s Hilldale Mall location.

The guard approached them when one of the suspects threatened to spray him with mace. The guard did try to grab her and she bit him on the arm.

The two other suspects tried to interfere until employees arrived.

The one suspect was arrested for battery and retail left. The two other suspects left before police arrived.
