MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Summer vacation is here - and you know it's true because now you can hit the pool.
Goodman Pool, known as Madison’s only public pool, opened Thursday at noon.
It opened in 2006, thanks to a $2.8 million dollar donation from Irwin and Bob Goodman.
Park rangers say they had people lined up at the gates way before opening time.
“I remember being a kid and the second school was out, you get that anxiety, getting ready to start summer be out here with your friends, and enjoying what the community has to offer,” said Josh Schmitt, a park ranger and aquatic supervisor.
The pool is located at 325 W. Olin Ave. You can take swim lessons or join the Waves swim and dive team program.
The pool will be open daily through Sept. 2 - weather permitting, of course.
