Man dies in car vs. semi truck crash in Monroe Co.

A two-car crash has left one man dead along Highway 71 in Monroe County Thursday afternoon.

The Sheriff's Office says a Dodge Caravan crossed the center line and smashed into a semi truck head-on just east of Kendall. The van then spun out and landed in a ditch on the side of the road.

The driver of the van, a 30-year-old Sauk City man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The semi-truck driver was not injured.

Authorities have notified the victim's family. His name has yet to be released.
