Man in Souix Falls may have died from cold weather

SOUIX FALLS, SD. (WMTV) - Police in Sioux Falls said a man found dead under a bridge may have died from the frigid weather.

Police spokesman Officer Sam Clemens said the man was discovered in downtown Sioux Falls just before 7 a.m., Feb. 12. The name of the man has not been released.

Clemens said police believed the man likely died from exposure to the cold, but an autopsy will need to verify the cause. There was no sign of foul play.

The National Weather Service said the temperature in Sioux Falls was 12 degrees (minus 11 Celsius) around the time the man was found.
