Man points gun at woman, drops own infant when police respond

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) -- A man was arrested after reportedly pointing a gun at a woman on Friday morning on the east side of Madison.

A man who had been recently living in a residence, forced himself into the home on the 900 block of Vernon Avenue and pointed a gun at a resident, according to the Madison Police Department. The victim was not injured.

The suspect was carrying who is believed to be his own baby in a car seat at the time the victim contacted police. He dropped the infant when he ran.

The baby was not hurt and the suspect was not armed when he was apprehended by police on the 4400 block of Cottage Grove Road at 10:26 a.m., according to the department.

The suspect has not yet been positively identified, according to the department. Police are still investigating.

Expected charges are second degree reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, according to the department.
