Medford High School art teacher Jill Fortin broke the Guinness World Record for most clay pots made within an hour on Sunday, April 22, 2018.

Many staff, students, and community members participated in the countdown as she made it to number 261; surpassing the 159 on record. Each pot will be donated to the Medford school district kindergarten classes so they can plant flowers and decorate them before summer break.

“I am super excited,” Fortin expressed to the crowd. “I didn’t think we would make it to 261.”

She says the idea came from her students who wanted to raise money for a local food pantry. Thanks to her students and the art club at Medford high, over $1,000 was raised.

Fortin says she is willing to break her winning record only if her students by her side.
