MIDDLETON, Wis. (WMTV) --- A Middleton mom created a voting app to help mothers stay informed.

The One My Vote App was created by Emily Kuhn, who studied international political economics in college, but these days struggles like many others to keep updated with politics.

Kuhn has her hands full these days keeping up with 3-year-old Thomas and baby Annicka. But this lifelong political junkie was shocked to discover just how busy motherhood made her.

"In 2014, I was a new mom and so I was sitting in the polling booth and I didn't know who these people were. And I used to know everything with politics, but now I'm focused on my babies," Kuhn said. "And I'm like how do other voters do this? How does someone who's not passionate about politics know what's going on with all of the races on the ballot?"

She figured there must be an app for that. Drawing on some computer programming skills she picked up in all that spare time before kids, a new app was born.

"I's a free nonpartisan voter app it profiles candidates both at national and state level. We're in all 50 states. It's got governor and senate races," Kuhn said.
