The one runway open to commercial traffic at Mitchell International Airport this summer is shut down this hour after a military aircraft made an emergency landing.
The aircraft that made an emergency landing is a KC-135 with the 128th Air Refueling Wing — and it apparently blew two tires upon landing.
The KC-135 is currently stopped and disabled on the runway. Officials say nobody has been hurt.
All flights are temporarily on hold as a result of this incident.
There are two runways that normally handle commercial traffic, but one of them is shut down this summer for construction.
FOX6 News has a crew headed to the scene — and we’ll update this story as soon as more information is available.
