MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - NBC15 is proud to celebrate Amy Carlson on three decades with Gray Television at NBC15 in Madison, Wis.
Carlson was hired in the late 80s as a creative services writer and producer. Since then, she's worked to gain the trust of south central Wisconsinites as part of the Weather Authority team.
Carlson is the longest person to be on the NBC15 airwaves as part of the current staff.
Since her first day at NBC15, she’s worn a number of hats and held a number of roles. Carlson worked weekend evening weather with Elmer Childress, started The Morning Show weekdays on Aug. 5, 1991 (which was a half hour long at the time, 6:30-7 a.m.) and anchored The Morning Show on the weekend.
Carlson earned a bachelor’s associate degree in broadcasting and film production at the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa.
Carlson has been involved in the greater Madison area in countless ways from emceeing for various nonprofit organizations to making sure Wisconsinites have everything they need to know to prepare for their day weather-wise.
