New information on homicide: MPD looking for owner of bike

UPDATE (WMTV) - The Madison Police Department have recovered a stolen bicycle and they are looking to talk to the owner.

Authorities said the bike was likely stolen on either March 27th or 28th. Police need more information on where and when the theft took place.

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – The name of the homicide victim found in his apartment on Monday was released.

According to the Dane County Medical Examiner, the victim was identified as Andrew Nesbitt, age 46 of Madison. The autopsy confirms that Nesbitt’s death was a result of sharp force injuries.

Nesbitt was found dead in his apartment located at 27 N. Butler Street around 4 p.m. on Monday.

Authorities said a man was taken into custody on Tuesday on charges unrelated to the homicide. He is currently at the Dane County Jail and is a person of interest in the case.

This is an ongoing homicide investigation and NBC15 will update you once more information is received.
