A new craft brewery is now open in southern Wisconsin. G5 Brewing Company in Beloit has 12 beers on tap.
“We feel super lucky to have such a great space to be working in,” said head brewer Tim Goers. “I believe this is the first time since 1999 there is an actual craft brewery in Beloit,”
The modern-looking facility is located at 1895 Gateway Blvd on the eastside of Beloit, not far from where Interstate 90 and 43 intersect.
G5 has a 10 barrel system in the brewery which equals about 2,500 pints of beer. Goers says G5 is trying to create a community of beer drinkers from all over.
“I want everyone in this community and everyone in the state of Wisconsin to come and enjoy our stuff,” said Goers. “Since we are right here on the state line as well, (we are) welcoming every group. It’s Memorial Day weekend right now so they are heading up north hanging out so come by for a pint,”
G5 stands for the five members of the Gunderson family who own the brewery. The business also sells liquor and food. But Goers believes it’s the beer that sets them apart.
“What makes us a little more unique is we are focused on creating the best ales possible by paying attention to our ingredients and our processes,” he said. “We want the beer to speak for themselves so we would love for people to come in and judge us against their favorite brewery and honestly, we are always looking for feedback,”
G5 is open Tuesday through Sunday. The brewery is closed on Mondays.
