Resident arrested for arson after house fire on north side

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) -- Madison police said they arrested a resident of a home that started on fire Sunday night for arson and first degree reckless endangerment.

Officials said 34-year-old Rose Galloway is in the Dane County Jail.

The fire, which officials believe Galloway may have set intentionally, was reported just after 10 p.m. in the 400 block of Starling Lane.

Officials said three people in the home were able to safely escape. The fire was knocked down by 10:27 p.m., and no other homes were impacted.

Fire officials said the fire appears to have been an isolated incident, and there is not danger to the public.

Madison police are assisting with the ongoing investigation.

The American Red Cross responded to provide assistance to those displaced by the fire.
