35 Madison area organizations attended Orchard Ridge Elementary School's inaugural Resource Fair to help families learn about activities and opportunities in the comminity.

Some of the participating organization include United Way, Urban League, Boys and Girls Club of Dane County, and Madison Public Library.

About 300 students attend Orchard Ridge Elementary School and its one of the most diverse schools in the Madison Metropolitan School district with a high percentage of students from African American, Hispanic and Hmong backgrounds.

"Given recent events in the news regarding racial disparity in Wisconsin, the latest Race to Results report from Kids Forward and recent interest in PTO engagement within Madison, this event is a timely reminder that quality education is the responsibility of every community member." organizer Samara Safarik said.
