DANE COUNTY, Wis. (WMTV)--- With the warmer weather moving in this week, maybe it’s time you go out and enjoyed one of Madison’s beautiful lakes.
“Paddle for a Purpose” is underway again this summer.
Here’s how it works: Every Monday, Madison Boats will donate 20% or rental sales to the Clean Lakes Alliance. The organization works to protect Madison’s lakes and keep them clean.
In 2018, the program raised more than $2700, and they’re hoping to raise even more this year.
“Paddle for a Purpose is a great way for people to do two things. One get out on the water. Two give back. At Clean Lakes, we say the lakes are the center of the community, and there's no better way to make them the center of the community than for people to get out on the water and use them,” said Adam Soderstein at Clean Lakes Alliance.
Once again, every Monday this summer you can go rent a paddle board, kayak, or canoe and 20% of your money goes towards keeping Madison’s lakes beautiful.
