Pocan meets with ICE officials, says 167 left on list of targeted people in Wisconsin
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials have detained 83 of 250 targeted people in Wisconsin during raids last weekend according to a statement from Congressman Mark Pocan.
Pocan met with ICE officials in Washington, D.C. Thursday to discuss the recent raids in Wisconsin.
"The agency could not tell me how many agents are working in Wisconsin or the 2nd Congressional District, what offenses those detained had committed, the names of those detained or how we can get in contact with them, and whether agents followed proper protocol regarding medical conditions or minors," Pocan said.
ICE said they would investigate the issues he brought up and give him answers.
ICE also claims they reached out to local law enforcement.
ICE officials told Pocan that the recent surge in arrests is "direct result of President Trump’s immigration policy and that the agency is following his orders."
