Police stop 38 drivers for speeding along the Beltline

Madison police say they stopped 38 drivers for speeding after setting up a speed trap on the Beltline Wednesday morning.

The officers at the trap, set up at the Beltline and Whitney Way, stopped 39 vehicles, 38 for speeding violations.

Police say all the drivers were speeding between 15-28 miles over the 55 mph speed limit.

One driver was stopped for “following too closely,” police say.
