Procession honors Sun Prairie Fire Capt. Cory Barr

A procession late Wednesday night transported the body of Sun Prairie Fire Captain Cory Barr to a funeral home in Sun Prairie.
Barr and firefighters with the Sun Prairie Fire Department evacuated dozens of people from their homes and businesses due to a gas leak Tuesday night. Barr died following an explosion.
The procession began 10:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Dane County medical examiner's office in McFarland. It traveled to Sun Prairie, where thousands of people lined the streets to pay their respects. It ended at Tuschen-Newcomber Funeral Home.
According to the Wisconsin State Firefighters Memorial, there will be a private visitation Friday night at the funeral home. The funeral will be held Saturday, July 14 at 11 a.m. at Sun Prairie High School.
