Sister finds Jakubowski's apology letter

ROCK COUNTY, Wis. (WMTV)----Joseph Jakubowski is facing three felony charges in connection to the burglary of a Rock County gun shop on April 4th.

According to a criminal complaint, 32-year-old Joseph Jakubowski faces the following charges: burglary-arming self with a dangerous weapon, felony theft-special facts and possession of burglarious tools in connection to stealing 18 guns from Armageddon Supplies in Janesville.

The criminal complaint also states that Jakubowski was living with his sister and was moving out of the home the morning of the burglary. His sister said she found what appeared to be a draft of an apology letter to a gun shop owner. In the letter, he explained he wanted to purchase the guns, but he could not because he was a felon.

JANESVILLE, Wis. (WMTV) - The FBI announced on Tuesday they are increasing the reward for more information on Joseph Jakubowski, age 32 of Janesville, to $20,000.

According to the release, more than 150 enforcement personnel and others are working together on this investigation. The FBI was joined by multiple local, state and federal law enforcement agencies in making the announcement of the increased reward.

“We have increased the reward appealing to those in the public who may be able to assist us in a safe and peaceful resolution for all concerned,” said SAC Tolomeo.

Authorities say Jakubowski may have altered his appearance by shaving his head and facial hair.
