MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) Continued rain chances, melting snow, and frozen ground mean flooding concerns are sticking around. A Flood Watch remains in place for the entire area through early Friday. After that, river flooding will be a big concern by the end of the week and weekend.
As of now, several area rivers are expected to be into minor to moderate flood stage by Friday and Saturday. Some of the rivers expected to be impacted the most include the Yellow, Fox, Kickapoo, Mississippi, Baraboo, Rock, Pecatonica, Sugar, and Turtle.
If you live in a flood prone area, it is a good idea to prepare for the rising water and have a plan to evacuate should you need to. Remember to never drive through high water as you don't know how deep it really is or how stable the ground is.
