ROCK CO. (WMTV) - Providing year-round sports opportunities for more than 10,000 Wisconsin athletes - that's the goal of the Law Enforcement Torn Run event.
The Rock County Sheriff's Office hosted the Rock County final leg of the run Wednesday. The events raise money to support Special Olympics of Wisconsin.
Sergeant Brown with the Rock County Sheriff's Office says the event is all about community.
"Each year we try to make this a bigger and better event, and we just want everyone to know we're behind them, and we support them,” Brown said.
Officers carry the Special Olympics torch across Wisconsin, in order to kick off the State Summer Games.
The games are scheduled for Thursday, June 6 through June 8 at UW-Stevens Point.
