MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) -- A 42-year-old woman called police when she heard a loud noise in her home early Sunday March, 31 and checked the homes security cameras to see a bearded man entering the home, officials say.
According to the Madison Police Department, the woman and her significant other grabbed their two children, hid in a back bedroom and called 9-1-1.
Officers arrived to the home with a K-9 and entered the home after announcing their presence. The intruder, who was hiding behind the front door, emerged and began resisting officers. Three officers suffered minor injuries during the incident.
The intruder was arrested, brought to the hospital and once cleared was brought to jail. He faces charges of disorderly conduct, trespass and two counts of resisting causing soft tissue injury.
