ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (WMTV)--- Authorities are reminding drivers to slow down after a crash involving a semi-truck and a patrol car in Ashwaubenon on Monday morning.
Ashwaubenon Public Safety posted on their Facebook page video of the collision. A public safety officer was entering the intersection around 9:30 a.m. when a semi-truck failed to stop for a red light and struck the patrol car on the driver’s door. The impact caused the patrol car to enter the median.
Public safety said the officer was initially trapped in the vehicle, but was able to break free. The officer was not injured.
They said this incident is a good reminder to drive within safe speeds so you are able to stop and/or avoid crashes when conditions deteriorate.
