Snow in the forecast through the weekend

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) -- The NBC15 Weather Authority Forecast with Amy Carlson.

A winter storm approaches today and brings snowfall beginning this afternoon. A Winter Storm Warning will go into effect for Grant, Lafayette, Green, Rock and Walworth counties at 3 pm until 6 am Saturday. 4-7 inches of snow are possible near the stateline. A Winter Weather Advisory goes into effect at the same time for Iowa, Dane, Jefferson, Sauk, Richland counties at the same time. Snow accumulations could reach 2-6 inches in those areas.
