ROCK COUNTY, Wis. (WMTV)--- Several schools in and around the Rock County area took precautionary measures such as "soft lockdowns" last week in response to the manhunt for Joseph Jakubowski.

Soft lockdown protocol varies, but can consist of heightened measures such as keeping students indoors during typical recess hours and altering parent drop-off and pick-up procedures.

Today, Fort Atkinson and Edgerton Schools announced on their social media pages that they will continue the soft lockdowns on Monday, April 10th. Many other schools in the area are on spring break.

Law enforcement in Rock County say Joseph Jakubowski made threats toward an unspecific school. He's suspected of stealing firearms from the Armageddon gun shop in Janesville.
