Summit addresses high infant mortality rates

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV)--- Hundreds of people gathered for the 10th Annual Wisconsin Women’s Health Advocacy Summit in Madison on Tuesday.

Their mission is to break down and discuss the plan of Governor Tony Evers that would invest $28 million towards supporting healthier pregnancies and births.

In particular, the summit addressed rampant infant mortality rates in Wisconsin where African-American babies are three times as likely to die as white babies.

The summit included panel discussions that featured youth leaders, women who ran for office in 2018, and health experts.
