Sun Prairie Police have arrested a man who is accused of robbing a Sun Prairie bank, and then going into an Aldi grocery store next door.

According to the Sun Prairie Police Department, the suspect is now in custody and the investigation is still ongoing at this time.

Sun Prairie police are searching for a man they believe robbed a bank on the city's West Side.

Police responded to the Bank of Sun Prairie on South Grand Avenue for a robbery at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say 30-year-old Alex Melton passe a note to a bank teller demanding money, and left with an undisclosed amount of cash. Police say he did not show a weapon or injure any employees.

Police searched a nearby Aldi Grocery Store after they received information he may be inside. Authorities searched the area and could not locate Melton.

Police say they are actively looking for Melton.

He is described as being five feet, eight inches tall, weighing 170 pounds. He has multiple facial tattoos and a neck tattoo of a flower.

Police believe he may be somewhere in the Wisconsin Dells-Lake Delton area.

Police say if you find Melton, do not attempt to contact him and call 911 immediately.

According to court records, a bench warrant was issued on September 15 for Melton on several charges including burglary and theft. Authorities say Melton and another man, 34-year-old Aaron Sowieja, stole credit and debit cards from several vehicles in the Town of Fairfield.
