MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) -- Three teens are behind bars after driving away from police in a car full of stolen items.
According to the Dane County Sheriff's Office, a deputy attempted to pull over a speeding car without lights on the Beltline just before 9 p.m. Thursday. Instead of stopping, the car drove away.
Authorities said because the car matched the description of a vehicle associated with numerous burglaries, thefts, and stolen vehicles, they started a pursuit. The car didn't stop until it ran over spike strips laid out on Highway 151.
Deputies found three teens inside the car, and all of them were arrested and taken into custody. Several stolen items and drugs were also found in the car.
The incident and related crime spree remains under investigation.
