The Pope Farm Conservancy announced last week that they weren't holding Sunflower Days, but the Town of Middleton are reviewing multiple plans to try and save the summer event.

Last Wednesday, Friends of Pope Farm Conservancy said: "It is with deepest regret that we must announce the cancellation of FOPFC Sunflower Days 2018 due to safety concerns."

In the statement, they list parking concerns as the main issue they have encountered over the years. In 2016, visitor numbers reached 84,000. That number was expected to increase by 20 percent in 2018.

The Town of Middleton met on Monday to discuss options to try and save the sunflowers, however, there were not any representatives from the Pope Farm Conservancy at the meeting. David Shaw, Town of Middleton Administrator says they want them present while they make this big decision.

The next meeting is schedule for May 7, at 6:30 p.m.
