MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A transportation task force met Thursday to come up with a recommendation for Gov. Tony Evers' budget.
The task force consists of business owners and transportation and construction officials.
State transportation secretary nominee Craig Thompson said they are looking at what our state needs and how to get the money to fix roads and infrastructure.
"I think this is the most inclusive group that the DOT has ever pulled together to really get input in a quick fashion as we put together our budget,” Thompson said. “We really want to hear from the people that not only operate our system but more importantly the entities that use it every day and use it in their daily lives."
Thompson is hoping a bipartisan solution will be found. He added he is hoping the state will get on the right path to fix the transportation issues in our state.
