MADISON, Wis. (WMTV)--- Three officers sustained injures while attempting to arrest a man accused of stealing cash from an employee on campus early Sunday morning.

The UW-Madison Police Department said an employee at the Memorial Union on Langdon Street was taking cash to a secure location in the building just before 1 a.m. when a stranger ran up to her and grabbed the cash. He ran off. He was believed to be unarmed. The victim was shaken. She sustained minor injuries.

Police said officers and detectives were able to identify the suspect, 23-year-old Delmont L. Moore of Madison, thanks to security cameras in the area. Officers spotted Moore near State Street on Monday afternoon and attempted to take him into custody. Moore ran off, but officers caught up to him and eventually arrested him.

Moore was booked into the Dane County Jail on a tentative felony charge of robbery and resisting arrest – causing injury and a probation hold.

Police said all three officers were treated and immediately returned to work.
