Wisconsin DOT gives update on I-39/90 expansion projecy

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) -- Closures will be required to facilitate upcoming construction work on the Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s I-39/90 Expansion project, according to the City of Janesville.

The closure of Townline Road under I-39/90, west of Milton, is rescheduled for Friday, July 26. Palmer Drive under I-39/90 in Janesville is scheduled to be closed from 6 a.m. Thursday, July 25 to 6 p.m. Friday, July 26. Alternate local routes are required for both closures.

Closures are weather dependent and subject to change, according to the City of Janesville.

US Highway 14 Westbound: One lane will be CLOSED on westbound US 14/Humes Road near I-39/90 from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, May 6. Plan ahead and anticipate delays in this area.

East Milwaukee Street under I-39/90: Scheduled to be closed to all traffic for bridge demolition beginning at 6 a.m. Tuesday, May 7 to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 9. Alternate local routes will be required. No posted detour has been provided. The access road to Marshall Middle School will remain open for student drop off.

The outbound Milwaukee Street Route 5 and Milwaukee Street Special 22PM Route will detour as follows: North on Pontiac Drive past Milwaukee Street; east onto Mt. Zion Avenue; south onto Morningside Drive; and, east onto Milwaukee Street to resume the regular route.

The inbound Milwaukee Street Route 5\) will detour as follows: West on Milwaukee Street; north onto Morningside Drive; west onto Mt. Zion Avenue; south onto Pontiac Drive to resume the regular route.

The Nightside East Route 8 will detour as follows: South on Morningside Drive; west onto Mt. Zion Avenue; south onto Pontiac Drive; and west onto Milwaukee Street to resume the regular route.
