MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) -- It takes a lot of help to pull off a PGA Champions golf tournament, and American Family Insurance says they couldn't have done it this weekend without their volunteers.
"We have grown faster than expected which is great and means the community is behind us," Tournament Director, Nate Prokrass said.
Prokrass says the 948 volunteers were crucial to the steady flow of the tournament.
"It's the best way to get those volunteer hours," Volunteer Tonya Gnewikow said.
Gnewikow's husband Mike, and their four boys all volunteered throughout the weekend. They say it was an active way for them to bond without electronics and cell phones getting in the way.
"We just love to be able to go out and do things together and this is a prime example of something we will never forget we did," Mike Gnewikow said.
