MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) -- Students involved in 230 Wisconsin FFA chapters across the state are in Madison this week for their organizations special convention.

To kick off the 90th convention at Alliant Energy Center, the students helped Second Harvest of Southern Wisconsin by packing food. Giving back to the community is a fabric of the FFA. The Wisconsin FFA president, Amelia Hayden, says service is even included in their mission statement.
"Not only are students giving back but they are having tons of fun doing it and building character skills that they will do for the rest of their lives," Hayden said.
Students from ages 7th grade and up will be in town for the convention that runs through Thursday. Awards and scholarships will be given out during the convention too.
