Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker headed to Trump inauguration
MAPLE BLUFF, Wis. (AP) -- Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker says he is headed to Washington to see Donald Trump sworn in as president.
Walker told The Associated Press in an interview Wednesday that next month's inauguration will be the first he's attended as governor. Walker did go in 2001 when he was a state representative and George W. Bush was sworn in the first time. Walker also saw Bush sworn in for a second term in 2005 when Walker was Milwaukee County executive.
Walker did not attend either of President Barack Obama's inaugurations.
Walker has been one of Trump's most vocal supporters after running against him in the presidential primary and endorsing Ted Cruz in Wisconsin's primary.
This week Walker sent a letter to Trump seeking more state power over refugees, Medicaid and wolf hunting.
