Wisconsin Singers celebrates 50th anniversary

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV)-- The Wisconsin Singers is celebrating 50 years with two special performances in Overture Hall.

UW-Madison's premier entertainment company, Wisconsin Singers, is performing for one weekend only at the Overture Center for the Arts on Friday, November 10 at 8:00 PM and Saturday, November 11 at 7:00 PM.

The 50th season show, "Can't Stop Dancin' !" features Broadway-caliber choreography, stunning vocals, and big band sound performed by the top talents of UW-Madison. This year's show will feature, Siri Pinter Daly (NBC Today Show) as emcee and Madison East Encore and Marshall Show Choir.

In this 90-minute revue of top hits from the past five decades, the show highlights more than 40 songs covering artists from Gene Kelly and the Beatles to current pop icons like Meghan Trainor and Pentatonix.

Broadway buffs will enjoy songs from Hairspray and Tony-award winning Dear Evan Hanson. Children of all ages will laugh out loud with the Muppets and enjoy "How Far I'll Go" from Moana. The celebrated Wisconsin Singers band will rock the house with a lively medley of swing tunes and a tribute to the Beatles. Badger fans won't want to miss the Singers' rendition of the Fifth Quarter where the audience sings along to "Varsity," dances to "Tequila," and jams to "Jump Around."
