MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) -- People in Wisconsin and 22 other states are being advised not to eat pre-cut melon because it may have salmonella.

The warning from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) covers fresh-cut watermelon, honeydew melon, cantaloupe and fresh-cut fruit medley products containing any of those melons.

The fruit was sold in clear plastic containers under several brands sold at Costco, Trader Joe's, Walgreens, Walmart, and whole foods.

According to the FDA, 60 people in five states have become sick so far. Symptoms include diarrhea, fever and abdominal cramps 12 to 72 hours after infection.
