Wisconsin lawmakers respond to Trump's address

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) -- Congressman Bryan Steil and Senator Ron Johnson responded with statements to President Trump's Oval Office Address.

In a statement sent out Tuesday night following President Trump's address, Steil said he is frustrated with the situation the government is in.

"I am in Congress to work with anyone to get the job done and solve these problems, not to play political games with our border security and government funding," said Steil.

Steil ended his statement with, "we must secure our border and end the shutdown."

Senator Ron Johnson also went to Twitter with a statement of his own.

"(Donald Trump) made a strong case for securing our border and fulfilling our responsibility to protect fellow Americans. Time to end the politics and properly fund border security."
